Travelling to Bruges

Bruges is located in the Flanders region of Belgium.

Intergalva 2024 will be held at the Bruges Meeting and Convention Centre (BMCC) is located in the heart of Bruges, within walking distance of hotels, tourist attractions and world-famous museums.

An easy way to reach Bruges is by flying to Brussels International Airport (BRU) and taking the direct train from Brussels Airport to Bruges.

By Plane

Via Brussels International Airport-Zaventem

The easiest way to travel to Bruges is to fly to Brussels International Airport-Zaventem (BRU). More than 200 destinations in 66 countries fly to Brussels Airport-Zaventem. More information can be found here.

There is a direct train to Bruges every hour (on weekdays). The journey takes approximately 80 minutes.

Alternatively – take the Brussels Airport Express (four trains per hour) to Brussels-North, Central or South. Click here for information about prices and timetables.

Flibco.com operates a direct shuttle from and to the station of Bruges, offering 13 times a day. Tickets can be booked online or on the shuttle.

Via Brussels South Charleroi Airport

It is also possible to reach Bruges by flying to Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL), which offers low-cost flights from many European cities. More information can be found here.

Flibco.com operates a direct shuttle from and to the station of Bruges, 12 times a day. The shuttle can be booked online or on the shuttle.

By Train

National trains

There are several direct trains to Bruges from Antwerp, Ghent, Hasselt, Leuven and Brussels. For more information click here

International trains

The Brussels-South ('Midi') station is the Belgian hub for all international trains.

High-speed trains arrive in Brussels-South from:

There are three trains every hour from Brussel-South to Bruges on weekdays and two every hour on the weekend. Journey time approx: 1 hour.

If you are travelling from Amsterdam or Rotterdam, you can also change trains at Antwerp Central. There is a direct train from Antwerp Central every hour. Journey time approx: 1 hour.

You can also use Trainline to find and book trains and coaches internationally in Europe.

By Car

Bruges is located near the E40 motorway. Approximate driving distance from Brussels is 1 hour and from Antwerp is 90 minutes.

There are 2 central car parks:  parks: Centrum-Station (€ 1.10/hr and € 5.50 for 24 hours) and Centrum-’t Zand (€ 14.40 for 24 hours). Both car parks are within walking distance of the BMCC.

Driving in Bruges

Throughout the city centre the speed limit is 30 km per hour.

Many shopping streets in Bruges are car-free during the weekend of June between the hours of 13.00 and 18.00.

By bicycle

Bruges is a compact city, so you can easily cycle everywhere. The BMCC has a spacious underground bicycle parking facility.

Visa Support

Delegates requiring visas for entry into Belgium should apply for their visas at their local Belgian Embassy. Visa support is available and letters of invitation can be requested during the registration process.
