"The most beautiful bicycle path in Europe": the Garda bicycle path is so famous, the first part of which was inaugurated in 2018. Two breathtaking kilometers overlooking the lake, from Capo Reamol in the Municipality of Limone to the border with Trentino. The structure is made entirely of galvanized steel.
The new section of the bicycle path that from Limone del Garda reaches the border with the autonomous province of Trento overhangs at a height of 50 meters over the lake. The construction is spectacular: the skillful use of hot-dip galvanized steel has made it possible to lightly creep into the profile of the coast and give a unique experience to those who travel along it with such agility that it seems to fly over the placid waves.
The work, once completed according to the "Garda by Bike" project, will make it possible to tour the lake, a cycle path that will be covered in a unique setting, 190km of beauty through Veneto, Lombardy and Trentino. A very thin and almost transparent galvanized steel barrier, although its barely perceptible environmental impact is minimal, ensures passersby along the entire stretch of the track. The steel beams that support it are fixed to the overhanging rocks. Hot dip galvanizing gives the steel a color that is perfectly integrated into the environment and durability to challenge the centuries to come. The flooring is made of concrete composed to be similar to wood, directly fixed to the metal structure.
When leaning against the existing road, the structure was integrated by exploiting the versatility of steel to follow its architectural lines. The track is intended for the perennial use of cyclists and families. An opportunity for relaxed tourism in search of true beauty and friendly to the environment.
